Setting up Multiple Internet Connection Accounts in Windows 2000

Windows 2000 provides an Internet Connection Wizard built into it that’s similar
to the one found in Windows XP.This wizard can be launched through Internet
Options in the Control Panel.To set up a new account in Windows 2000,
follow these steps:
1. Click Start | Settings | Control Panel. In Control Panel, doubleclick
the icon labeled Internet Options.

2. Click the tab labeled Connections. On this tab, you’ll see a button
labeled Setup. Click this button to launch the wizard.
3. When the Internet Connection Wizard appears, you will see three
options that allow you to sign up for a new account, transfer an existing
account to the computer, and set up an account manually. For the
instructions that follow, select I want to set up my Internet connection
manually, or I want to connect through a Local Area
Network (LAN). Click Next.
4. The next screen provides to options I connect through a phone line
and a modem and I connect through a local area network
(LAN). For the instructions that follow, select the first option of connecting
through a phone line. Click Next.
5. Enter the area code and phone number to call to connect to your
Internet Service Provider. From the drop-down list below, select the
country in which your ISP is located in. Click Next.
6. Enter the username and password for the account. Click Next.
7. Enter the name for this connection. Click Next.
8. The screen that follows allows you to set up a new e-mail account. If
you decided to create a new e-mail account, you would choose Yes.
Because we discuss creating new accounts in the next section, you
should choose No for this instruction. Click Next.
9. Click Finish to complete the setup of your account.
